It’s a wrap: Leadership Wilkes-Barre wraps downtown electrical boxes with historical photos
The Leadership Wilkes-Barre Group, known as “Back to the Future: Pittston Edition,” has completed the six month project of the eight historical electrical box wraps. They are located at several Main Street intersections and on Kennedy Boulevard.
Our own, Ron Faraday, president of the Greater Pittston Historical Society and the city’s facilities manager, and Mayor Mike Lombardo created the idea of using images of local history to beautify the boxes. It was decided to use vintage photos of the intersections, maps, and pages from an 1891 Pittston City Directory, The wraps were made at Wet Paint Graphics and Design in Wilkes-Barre. They also installed the vinyl wraps.
Sponsors for the project were M&T, FNCB & Landmark banks, Misericordia, InterMetro & General Accounting, and finally Financial Bookkeeping Service.
