Please join the Greater Pittston Historical Society for a special presentation by Professor Bob Wolensky, King’s College, on the history of the local apparel industry.
The talk is titled, “Min Matheson, Russell Bufalino, and Other Participants in the Wyoming Valley’s Ladies’ Garment Industry, 1945-1995.” Thursday, September 9th at 7:00 PM at the Pittston Memorial Library.
Admission is free of charge. Light refreshments provided.
The presentation will be based on Professor Wolensky’s recent book, Sewn in Coal Country (Penn State University Press, 2020), which consists of excerpts from 16 oral histories conducted with local garment workers and other persons associated with the industry. The talk will include voice and video clips of the women and men associated with the project.
